International Searching Authorities der Weltorganisation für geistiges Eigentum (World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO), wurde die Patentschrift ablehnend beurteilt. Bemängelt wurde, dass die Erfindung nicht nachvollziehbar dargestellt sei und insbesondere nicht ersichtlich sei, dass durch die beschriebene Reaktion von Nickel mit Wasserstoff Energie erzeugt wird.
