Alex Jones reagierte auf den Vorwurf, Gewalt zu provozieren mit der Behauptung, dass es sich (zumindest bei einem Teil der genannten Anschläge) um so genannte false-flag-Attentate gehandelt habe, die nie stattgefunden hätten und daher von den Behörden inszeniert gewesen seien. Insbesondere behauptete er dies in den Fällen von Edgar Maddison Welch sowie Jared Lee Loughner (Zitat: ''“This whole thing stinks to high heaven... My gut tells me this was a staged mind-control operation. The government employs geometric psychological-warfare experts that know exactly how to indirectly manipulate unstable people through the media.”'').
