Berichte bei Tripadvisor<ref>https://www.tripadvisor.de/ShowUserReviews-g303907-d3654061-r168861961-Agama_Yoga-Ko_Pha_Ngan_Surat_Thani_Province.html </ref> und die Eigenwerbung für Tantra ("Learn skills to develop deeper, longer orgasms") legen nahe, dass der Fokus weniger bei Spiritualität und mehr beim Körper liegt.
Im Juli 2018 wurden in Thailand von 31 Frauen öffentlich Vorwürfe wegen sexueller Übergriffe erhoben<ref>https://medium.com/@bescofield/women-accuse-agama-yoga-founder-swami-vivekananda-saraswati-of-sexual-assault-28baf12c781e</ref>. In der Folge flüchtete der Leiter Vivekananda sowie mehrere weitere Yoga-Lehrer, gegen die Vorwürfe erhoben worden waren. Andere Lehrer kündigten, laut Darstellung der Presseartikel weil ihre Hoffnungen auf Aufklärung mit entsprechenden Konsequenzen enttäuscht wurden.
Das Zentrum wird inzwischen von Ananda Maha geleitet, einer Lebensabschnittspertnerin von Vivekananda.

** I've done quiet a lot at agama (many levels and some retreats, workshops) and although I had the bad feeling pretty soon about the school and about the human 'interactions' there I wanted to give it another try as I had enjoyed a lot the first month teaching and it's content. But pretty soon I saw that the whole 'system' shares simmilarities with certain sects having and using sexuality as their tool. There is a huge brainwash going on and especially some women easily ...
