Reporter Dennis Mascarenas remains serious when sitting in an Orgone-Angel-Energy-Accumulator

The orgone accumulator (ORAC) is an invention of the Austrian psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich that he developed together with his orgone-hypothesis during his time in the United states approximately from 1939 on. The orgone accumulator is a device that will be used to collect a hypothetical orgone energy passively from the vicinity to concentrate it.

One provider for orgone accumulators is a company "Jürgen Fischer Orgontechnik" in Bremervörde.[1] Jürgen Fischer offers orgone accumulators at four digit prices and claims that he had received the exact building instructions in interviews with Wilhelm Reich. The conversation with the deceased Reich was held through a medium and through close cooperation with angels in the afterlife Reich was able to greatly improve the accumulator. Essential is the correct arrangement of eight rose quartzes in the corners - a construction, that Fischer claims to have protected as a utility model. In his book "Der Engel-Energie-Akkumulator nach Wilhelm Reich"(The Angel-Energy-Accumulator by Wilhelm Reich) not only the late Reich is cited, also the Archangel Raphael and Jesus Christ have their say.[2]

Construction

Orgone copy station

A Reichian orgone accumulator is a box made from a non-conductive material that is coated on the inside with conductive metal. In addition, an orgone accumulator is opaque. Orgone accumulators after Reich have been and are build big enough so that one or even several people find place in them. In addition to single layered versions Reich also used multi-layered versions to amplify the alleged effect.

Offered are also similarly structured "Orgone-copystation", with which it is supposedly possible to transfer "subtle medical information" from e.g. a homeopathic substance to another substance.

Reich sold or leased hundreds of these not properly licensed as medical devices orgone accumulators to patients with the promise of healing. This violated, according to the Food and Drug Administration FDA, current laws and led to an indictment against Reich.[3]

Efficiacy trials

Several scientific studies could not prove the existence of orgone or efficacy of the orgone accumulator. It is therefore generally considered ineffective.
