On June 14, 2011 four Ecat were shown to visitors in Bologna. One of the attendants was the U.S. journalist Steven B. Krivit from "New Energy Times". Krivit and other visitors were allowed to take pictures and observe a functioning Ecat reactor. Krivid also made video interviews with Andrea Rossi, Sergio Focardi and physicist Giuseppe Levi.

On June 14, 2011 a further demonstration of four Ecat took place in Bologna. The U.S. publisher of "New Energy Times", Steven B. Krivit was invited. Krivit and other visitors were allowed to take pictures and could follow the measurements during the presentation. As before, the actual reactor was not allowed to be inspected. Krivit conducted several video interviews with Andrea Rossi, Sergio Focardi and the physicist Guiseppe Levi.  

According to an Italian blog ("22 passi" / Daniele Passerini), the working reactor was connected to the control box by two cables. Heating energy could be calculated by multiplying the measured current of 3.5 A with the Italian mains voltage 230 V giving a power of 805 W.  

According to information from an Italian blog the ECat was connected by two power cables to a control unit. The power taken from the mains supply was 805 Watt (230 V / 3.5 A). At an ambient temperature of 31 degree Celsius water with a temperature of 26 degree was heated to 100,1 degrees. Not much is known about the cooling water flow, a single photography suggests that the flow was about 80 ml/min (1.33 ml/s - 4.8 l/Std. stroke vol. 2 ml, speed 40. see photo to the left). Since Rossi guaranteed a sixfold increase in heating output, mathematically speaking the heating output would have been 4800 W.

Krivit published a disappointing preliminary report three days later.<ref>Krivit S.B.: ''Preliminary Report of Interviews with E-Cat Trio Rossi, Focardi and Levi''. June 16, 2011. Only when a black hose was removed from the drain (Rossi was careful to lift the hose to let any water in the hose run down the drain) "white steam" could be seen exiting the hose . 100 % dry steam is invisible, white steam is a sign for condensed for condensed water droplets.  

Three days after the demonstration, Steven Krivit published in his blog a short but revealing "preliminary report" on his observations in Bologna.<ref>Krivit S.B.: ''Preliminary Report of Interviews with E-Cat Trio Rossi, Focardi and Levi''. 16. Only after lifting a black hose he could see some "white steam":

According to the summary by Krivit ''the scientific details provided by the E-Cat trio have been highly deficient and have not enabled the public to make an objective evaluation''. The report from Essen/Kullander too had ..''significant weakness in its presentation of data and calculations and is highly constrained by the methodology dictated and instrumentation provided by the E-Cat trio''. According to Krivit he is not sure if Levi did understand the potential impact of confirmation of dry vapour. rivit encouraged him to rework his controversial report from January 21, 2011 and asked for original raw data(aka "Galantini report") of the experiment on January 14, 2011. Levi is said to have agreed to send him a copy of Galantini’s steam humidity report from the experiment in February. In his report from January 21, 2011 Levi had, however, claimed that these raw data were "lost".

After the publication of the report by Krivit inventor Andrea Rossi responded very irritated and obviously angry on the visitor invited by him, the "Clown" Krivit, whom he also called a "snake".<ref>June 17th, 2011 at 3:10 PM<br>Dear Maryyugo:<br>We have already made enough public tests, either heating the water ( please go to read all our reports and papers on the Journal Of Nuclear Physics, or making steam. In this last case we always made the measurement of unvaporized water residue giving the result in mass. He also accused him to have been "sent by someone that wants to dwarf our work". Furthermore, he had tried to blackmail physicist Levi who has already given this to his attorney:

Physicists Levi responded with an open letter in bumpy English to Krivit, in which he accused him of having not understood his expantations. Also Krivit had not understood, that the water content in the steam was measured as a ration of the masses involved.<ref>Dear Mr. Krivit

This was also the conclusion in the Essen/Kullander report:

As the signature in my email says I got a PhD in Physics Years Ago.This Means That I have totally Understood the difference Between residual water in steam as fraction of the mass or volume.

As I have unsuccessfully tried to explain you:

2) As I have told you many times, Dr. Galantini, the expert chemist That Was in charge, have done to measure as percent of MASS.  

Krivit is not sure if physicist Levi has understood that it is important to verify that the steam is completely dry. Krivit advised Levi to correct his January 21 report and asked for a copy of Galantini’s "steam humidity report".  

As Professor Zanchini has told you the Same Day We Met, one of the informations you have crutial omitted from your preliminary report, fraction of water in the steam, Measured by MASS as we have done, would reduce the amount of energy in a Measured linear way.  

After the departure of Krivit and the publication of his preliminary report, irritated inventor Rossi reacted in an angry way. According to Rossi, ''Mr Krivit has understood nothing of what he saw'' and published a ''ridiculous report''. He accused him to be ''sent by someone to dwarf our work''. He also claimed that Krivit had tried to blackmail physicist Levi, who had to call for a lawyer.

So our analysis and our calculation is correct.
