Chlordioxid und chlordioxidhaltige Produkte ([[MMS]], [[CDH]], [[CDS]], [[CDI]], [[CDL]], [[CUW]] usw) sind keine zugelassenen Arzneimittel. Auch gibt es keinen wissenschaftlichen Nachweis einer Wirksamkeit bei Behandlungen von Krankheiten irgendeiner Art. Auf den Webseiten der us-amerikanischen Gesundheitsaufsichtsbehörde FDA wurde 2019 eine explizite Warnung vor der Einnahme von Chlordioxid veröffentlicht. Diese Warnung wurde von mehreren Chlordioxidbefürwortern (''Bleach - Boys'' genannt, von "to bleach" = bleichen) bekämpft.
