Mike Adams ist ein Buchautor und Betreiber eines Internetshops aus Tucson (Arizona). Er gründete in den USA mehrere Firmen und Verlage mit angeschlossenen Webseiten, auf denen er aus laienhafter und pseudomedizinischer Sicht zu Gesundheitsfragen Stellung nimmt und alternativmedizinische Produkte und Therapieverfahren bewirbt.

Adams betreibt zur Verbreitung seiner Ansichten die Seiten "NaturalNews ", ein "The Consumer Wellness Center" und den Verlag "Truth Publishing". Adams ist Inhaber der Firma "Arial Software LLC", die eine Software namens "Email Marketing Director" vertreibt, die eine "Mass Personalized Email Marketing Software" darstellt, also für die massenhafte Verbreitung von Spam-E-Mails eingesetzt werden kann.

Adams ist pauschaler Gegner der modernen Medizin und lehnt jegliche Medikamente und Arztbesuche ab. er ist Rohköstler und Impfgegner und bezeichnet sich selbst als "the Health Ranger" und "holistic nutritionist". Er ist Gegner von Nahrungsmitteln, die Zucker enthalten, gekocht oder haltbar gemacht wurden, sowie von "rotem" Fleisch, Süßstoffen, Glutamat, homogenisierter Milch, Brot und "weißem" Mehl, Waschmittel von Markenherstellern, Deodorants und Shampoos sowie fluoridierter Zahnpasta. Scientology wird seiner Meinung nach unfair behandelt.[3][4] Auch Kalte Fusion und sogenannte Freie Energie werden z.B. anhand des Focardi-Rossi-Energiekatalysator‎ auf seiner Website unkritisch thematisiert.[5][6]

Beworben werden von Adams Produkte wie Himalayasalz, Maca, chinesische Kräuter, Mineralien, Proteinshakes und Spirulina-Produkte.

In Deutschland werden Ansichten von Adams im Kopp Verlag veröffentlicht.

Kurzbiografie

Zu Adams’ Biografie ist so gut wie nichts bekannt, er selbst verbreitet lediglich vage Angaben.[7] Danach sei er "vermutlich" 1967 geboren und früher Inhaber einer "multi-million-dollar" Softwarefirma gewesen, die er aber 2003 verkauft habe. Adams behauptet, mit 30 Jahren aufgrund seiner Essgewohnheiten und zu wenig Sport an Diabetes Typ II erkrankt zu sein und sich mit einer Diät selbst geheilt sowie keine ärztliche Hilfe in Anspruch genommen zu haben. Eine Diät ist allerdings auch Bestandteil einer herkömmlichen Therapie der wissenschaftlichen Medizin bei diesem Typ der Erkrankung, die damit unter Kontrolle gebracht werden kann.

Verschwörungstheorien

Zu Gesundheitsfragen stellte Adams absurde Verschwörungstheorien auf, ohne dafür Belege zu nennen. So plane "die Pharmaindustrie" HIV-Impfungen allein zu dem Zweck, viele "HIV-Positive" zu schaffen, denen man dann gewinnbringend anti-retrovirale Medikamente verkaufen könne. Weiters bezeichnet er Chemotherapie gegen Krebs als Quacksalberei.[8] Mammografie-Untersuchungen hätten einzig den Zweck, dass Frauen "durch falsch positive Resultate so in Angst und Schrecken versetzt werden, dass sie in teure toxische Behandlungsmethoden wie Chemotherapie, Bestrahlung und Operation einwilligen."[9]

Er behauptet Beweise zu haben, dass das E.Coli-Bakterium, welches 2011 (hauptsächlich) die deutsche EHEC-Epidemie verursachte, in Wirklichkeit ein biotechnologisch geschaffenes Superbakterium sei, geschaffen einzig zum Zweck, die totale Kontrolle über das weltweite Nahrungsangebot zu erlangen, indem man ungekochte Sprossen, Frischmilch und rohes Gemüse ächte, um diese mit GMO-Nahrung (Genetisch modifizierte Organismen) zu ersetzen. Er behauptet weiter, dass GMOs entworfen wurden, um einen genetischen Code einzuschleusen, der die Bevölkerung unfruchtbar mache. Und jene, die nachdem sie GMOs ausgesetzt wurden, trotzdem zur Fortpflanzung in der Lage seien, sollen an degenerativen Erkrankungen leiden, wodurch sich die pharmazeutischen Betriebe über den Verkauf der "Behandlung" bereicherten.[10] Tatsächliche Beweise für diese Behauptungen werden allerdings nie präsentiert.

Desinformation zum Thema Impfungen

Adams behauptet in seinen Artikeln, dass Impfungen nicht nur Asthma, Allergien und Autismus verursachten, sondern erklärt auch, dass es keine "legitimen" Studien zu Impfungen gebe. Im wesentlichen werden also die üblichen Desinformationen der Impfkritik wiedergegeben.[11][12] Auch zu Andrew Wakefield werden nicht fundierte Behauptungen und angebliche neue Beweise bezüglich dessen Unschuld verbreitet.[13][14] Diese angeblichen Beweise wurden bereits vor Jahren im Gerichtsverfahren gegen Wakefield vorgelegt und sind weder neu noch ein Beleg für Wakefields Unschuld.[15]

Desinformation zur HIV-Infektion und HIV-Nachweisverfahren

Der Kopp Verlag übernahm in seinem Onlineangebot unkommentiert ein desinformierendes Werk des Medizinlaien Adams. Darin behauptet er fälschlich: "HIV-Impfstoffe rufen 50 Prozent falsche positive Resultate bei HIV-Tests hervor", sowie dass die heutigen HIV-Tests nur Antikörper gegen das HI-Virus nachwiesen.[16] Dies ist falsch: PCR-Tests erkennen Bestandteile des HI-Virus und ELISA-Suchtests der 4. Generation (eingeführt ab 1999) erkennen direkt das p24-Antigen des HIV1. Adams Aussage trifft nur auf die ELISA-Suchtests bis zur 3. Generation sowie auf die Western-Blot-Bestätigungstests zu.

Weiterhin behauptet Adams: "Unter bestimmten Bedingungen können die Hälfte der HIV-Nachweise falsch sein, was für das Leben der betroffenen Patienten, die fälschlicherweise als »HIV-positiv« eingestuft wurden, verheerende Konsequenzen haben kann". Adams bezieht sich dabei auf Gruppen von Personen, die zu Forschungszwecken eine Impfung gegen HIV erhielten und danach Antikörper bildeten. Adams leitete daraus unzulässigerweise ab, dass der HIV-Test an Glaubwürdigkeit verliere. Was Adams aber verschweigt, ist die Tatsache, dass es bislang überhaupt keinen zugelassenen HIV-Impfstoff und erst recht keine verbreiteten Impfkampagnen gibt. Die Aussagen von Adams haben daher für die allgemeine Bevölkerung keinerlei Relevanz.

Eine HIV-Infektion kann nicht mit einem ELISA-Suchtest allein nachgewiesen werden, obwohl die Testaussage recht hoch ist. Dieser ist als Suchtest darauf ausgelegt, potenziell Infizierte zu erkennen. Die Sensitivität des ELISA-Test wird mit 99,9% angegeben. Dies bedeutet, dass von 1.000 HIV-positiven Patienten 999 als solche erkannt werden und einer ein falsch-negatives Ergebnis erhält. Die Spezifität beträgt 99,8%. Das bedeutet, dass von 1.000 nicht HIV-Positiven 998 ein korrektes, negatives Ergebnis erhielten und nur 2 ein falsch-positives Ergebnis. Ein positives Testergebnis wird dem Getesteten aber erst dann mitgeteilt, wenn bei positivem ELISA-Test auch zusätzlich der teurere und aufwändigere Western-Blot-Bestätigungstest positiv war. Für diesen Bestätigungstest beträgt die Spezifität etwa 99,9996%.[17]

Die Pseudodokumentation House of Numbers wird von ihm ebenfalls unkritisch verbreitet.[18] Auf diversen Seiten zweifelt er einen "Mythos AIDS" an.[19] Auch Artikel des englischen Rassisten David Icke, die den Zusammenhang von AIDS und HIV leugnen, wurden auf Natural News übernommen. Icke ist bekannt für seine Verschwörungstheorie, nach der "reptiloide Formwandler die Erde regieren".

An alcoholic liquid, such as whisky, brandy, rum, etc. 6. Half an hour of your time. Procedure: 1. Fill the bottle with water, leaving about 20% space at the top. 2. Place the Ebola sample in the water in the bottle. 3. Close the top of the bottle with the cap. 4. Hold the bottle and strike it hard against a solid surface, such as a large book, 40 times. 5. Pour out the contents of the bottle. 6. Refill the bottle with water (the fluid remaining on the inside surface of the bottle will serve as the next Ebola sample). 7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 a total of 30 times. Storage: 1. Pour the bottle solution into another bottle—your stock bottle. 2. Add 10% by volume of the alcoholic liquid (whisky, brandy, etc.) as a preservative. 3. Store in a place away from sunlight and electronic equipment. Using this stock bottle, you can supply the Ebola remedy to as many people you want. Leave some hours between taking different homeopathic remedies. Phosphorus 200C taken once a day for a few days can be useful for eye problems. How to Ingest Homeopathic Remedies There should be no taste in your mouth on taking a homeopathic remedy. Thus, you should not eat or drink anything (besides water) at least fifteen minutes before and after taking it. This also applies to smoking. Nor should there be any strong odor, such as from perfume, incense, etc. present in the room. You can take a homeopathic remedy any time of the day or night, keeping these points in mind.
