Kritiker des Films werden von Cinema Libre bedroht. Als die Engländerin Fiona O'Leary (Autistic Rights Together) die Staatsanwaltschaft einschaltete um gegen eine Aufführung in Texas, Großbritannien und Irland einzuschreiten, wurde sie von Philippe Diaz bedroht. Diaz versuchte ihr zu untersagen sich in der Öffentlichkeit überhaupt zu dem Film oder Wakefield zu äussern:
