Die griechische start-up-Firma Defkalion Green Technologies S. A. (kurz Defkalion, benannt nach Deukalion, in der griechischen Mythologie der Sohn des Prometheus) war der Name eines gescheiterten griechischen Unternehmens. Die Firma war Entwickler und ehemals geplanter Anbieter kleiner Fusionsreaktoren für den privaten Hausgebrauch und für Industrieanwendungen, die "Energiekatalysatoren" genannt wurden und nach dem Prinzip des Focardi-Rossi-Energiekatalysator (E-Cat) von Andrea Rossi funktionieren sollten. Firmensitz war zunächst der mondäne Athener Vorort Glyfada.[1] Später zog die Firma Defkalion nach Vancouver in Kanada, angeblich wegen der Wirtschaftskrise in Griechenland.

Im gesamten Zeitraum der Existenz der Firma Defkalion wurde kein Produkt zum Kauf angeboten.

Behauptungen

Behauptet wurde von Defkalion, dass nach dem Prinzip der kalten Fusion das Element Nickel mit Wasserstoffgas fusionieren könne, um Energie freizusetzen. Nach Angaben von Defkalion sollten ihre geplanten Reaktoren zwischen 6 und 30 mal mehr Energie abgeben können als sie selbst an elektrischer Energie verbrauchen.

The current range of products produces surplus energy from 6 to 30 times more heat than energy consumed during its operation.[2]

Ein seriös zu nennender Beleg für die aufgestellten Behauptungen oder Fachliteratur existierte nicht. Als Markenname der Fusionsreaktoren wählte Defkalion "Hyperion".

Präsident der Defkalion war George Sortikos, einer der Vizepräsidenten war Christos Stremmenos (geb. 1932, ehemaliger Professor an der Universität Bologna und ehemaliger griechischer Botschafter in Italien).[3]

Nach nicht überprüfbaren Angaben der griechischen Zeitschrift "Investors World" sollte in der griechischen Stadt Xanthi ein ehemaliges Firmengelände an einem nicht exakt genannten Ort erworben worden sein, um dort ein 1 MW-Kleinkraftwerk mit Energiekatalysatoren nach Rossi zu errichten und die geplanten Energiekatalysatoren herzustellen. Insgesamt sollen in Xanthi drei Werke errichtet werden und 125-200 neue Arbeitsplätze entstehen.

Nach Angaben aus der Presse wollte die Defkalion noch 2012 mit der Herstellung der E-Cats beginnen und nannte eine jährliche Produktionszahl von 300.000 Stück. Im ersten Jahr wolle man jedoch lediglich 40.000 Stück herstellen. Ab Juli 2011 bot Defkalion Landeslizenzen für die Vermarktung der Erfindung zu einem Preis von 40,5 Millionen Euro pro Land an.[4].

Das Geschäftsmodell der Defkalion sah eine dauerhafte Vermietung oder das Leasing von E-Cats auch an Privatkunden vor. Eine 10 kW- oder 20 kW-Anlage (die Angabe ist ungenau) sollte demnach pro Jahr 1.300 Euro kosten, inklusive der Betriebskosten und des "Brennstoffaustauschs", der vom Hersteller durch Geräteaustausch bewerkstelligt werden sollte.[5][6][7]

Auf einer Pressekonferenz am 23. Juni 2011 wurde darüber berichtet,[8] dass ein Kontakt zu einem chinesischen "China Research Center for Public Policy" bestehe, dessen Repäsentant Hauard Chen auf der Presskonferenz anwesend war. In mehreren griechischen Presseberichten wurde behauptet, dass auch Politiker der deutschen Partei "Die Grünen" sowie Repräsentanten der baden-württembergischen Landesregierung anwesend gewesen sein sollen.[9][10][11] Als einziger Name wurde ein René Ramminger aufgeführt, möglicherweise der Berliner Sprecher der "AG Soziales & Arbeit KV Tempelhof-Schöneberg" von "Bündnis90/Die Grünen".

Während lange Zeit auf der Defkalion-Webseite keine Adresse genannt wurde, erschien seit der Pressekonferenz Ende Juni 2011 zunächst eine Kontaktadresse in Athen,[12] im Juli 2011 wurde eine Adresse in Glifada genannt.[13] Seit Dezember 2012 gibt die Firma Defkalion auch die Adresse der Zentrale in Vancouver in Kanada sowie die der europäischen Niederlassungen an.[14]

Aktuell (Stand April 2012) sind die Hyperion-Produkte lediglich Ankündigungen. Belege für den tatsächlichen Verkauf von Hyperion-Reaktoren an Kunden liegen nicht vor.

Im Juli 2012 gab Defkalion bekannt, dass die Firma wegen ausgebliebener staatlicher Unterstützung und wegen der Wirtschaftskrise Griechenland möglicherweise verlassen werde.[15]

Im April 2014 wurde die Webseite der Defkalion ( www.defkalion-energy.com ) abgeschaltet[16]. Dies kann als Hinweis gewertet werden, dass das Unternehmen den Betrieb eingestellt hat.

Besitzverhältnisse

Die Firma ist im Besitz mehrerer privater Investoren, mehrheitlich griechische Staatsbürger sowie Griechen mit aktuellem Wohnsitz in Kanada (Anteilseigner zu 64%) und Investoren aus dem Nahen Osten. Hauptanteilseigner der Defkalion ist eine in Limassol (Zypern) ansässige "Praxen Defkalion Green Technologies Ltd", die nach zypriotischem Recht die Anteilseigner geheim halten kann.

Investment-Zahlen

Nach Angaben der griechischen Zeitschrift "Investors World" soll es bei der Defkalion insgesamt um ein "200 Millionen Euro Investment" gehen. Die Hälfte der Investionssumme (also 100 Millionen) sollte ursprünglich an den Erfinder Rossi abfließen.[5][6][7] Im Juni 2011 wurde behauptet, dass die Investitionssumme 300-400 Millionen Euro betrage.[17]

Ursprünglich kam es zu einer Kooperation zwischen dem italienischen Erfinder des "E-Cat", Andrea Rossi, und der Defkalion. Eine Vereinbahrung sah vor, dass Defkalion einen Teil der E-Cat herstellen und die Vertriebsrechte für den zukünftigen Verkauf nach Griechenland und den Balkan besitzen sollte. Später wurde bekannt gegeben, dass Defkalion die gesamte Welt mit Ausnahme der USA beliefern sollte. Allerdings kam es Ende Juli 2011 zum Streit und zu einer Beendigung der Zusammenarbeit. Rossi gab bekannt, die Firma Defkalion verklagen zu wollen. Hintergrund war, dass Defkalion unabhängig von Rossi eigene "Energiekatalysatoren" vermarkten will, die als "Weiterentwicklungen" bezeichnet werden. Der Defkalion kam zugute, dass Rossis Versuche, ein internationales Patent zu erhalten, sich als zunehmend schwierig erwiesen. Rossi gelang es lediglich, ein italienisches Patent zu erhalten.

Ein Hyperion-Werber ist der US-amerikanische Geschäftsmann Sterling Allan der Firma Pure Energy Systems Network Inc.. Allan war in der Vergangenheit Unterstützer und Geschäftspartner von Michael Brady und organisierte für Brady eine USA-Reise zur Bewerbung seiner funktionsuntüchtigen Perendev-Generatoren, die in betrügerischer Weise als Perpetuum Mobile verkauft wurden. Allan war der Webmaster der Seite perendev.co.za und Anmelder der Domain perendev.com. Im November 2010 wurde Michael Brady wegen Betrugs in 36 Fällen und versuchten Betrugs in 19 Fällen zu einer Freiheitsstrafe von fünf Jahren und neun Monaten verurteilt.

Auf der Webseite der Firma Defkalion werden unter dem Requester "products" zukünftige E-Cats unter dem Markennamen Hyperion für 5-30 kW beworben, ohne jedoch Preise nennen. Auch wurde zunächst ein "Defkalion white paper" gezeigt, in dem Angaben zu den Rossi-Reaktoren gemacht werden. Beobachtern fielen zahlreiche Englischfehler und Fehler bei verwendete Größeneinheiten auf (Beispiele:.. Stromverbrauch: "0,5kw/hr", "Series C Hyperion 20kW product can generate up to 157 Mw in one year of operation"..). Dieser Text verschwand umgehend von den Webseiten. Zum angeblichen Funktionsprinzip führt die Defkalion aus:

Auch wurde von Seiten der Defkalion erklärt, dass durch eine "Druckerhöhung" (offenbar bezogen auf Wasserstoff) die Leistung des Hyperion-Fusionsreaktors steuerbar sei.

    Regarding exclusivity, having received expressions of interest from 63 countries and more than 850 companies, we decided to change our non-exclusivity approach so that due diligence and selection of multiple partners in any given country is the responsibility off the country rights holder. As such, we will only sign agreements with one company per country. Any additional factories will pass through this partner.

    Regarding our international sales approach, it is as follows:
     We sell the rights to manufacture our products exclusively to one company for a given country at a fixed royalty price of 40.5 million Euros per factory producing 300,000 units annually. Within this price, we will:
    o Provide the blueprints to establish the factory according to our international standardized plans, including all details for the machinery / software / technical know-how used in the factory. o Provide transfer-of-knowledge (production, technical, after sales, maintenance) both in Greece as well as on location  Additional royalties are paid to us for each product sold  We sell and deliver the industrial secret as a component to the final product in a black box, plug-and-play module.  Local company partnerships, marketing, points of sales, technical support remains the responsibility of the country rights holder.  If additional factories need to be built, the same principles remain.  Our business and pricing is structured to create lucrative win-win opportunities for all.
    Regarding time-line and milestones for those interested to proceed in talks:  Initial meeting in Athens during July and August (except 14-20 July and 10-20 August) to discuss and sign preliminary expression of interest contract, whereby the opportunity to secure the exclusive rights will be given.
